Takehiko Inoue is a legendary mangaka. He started his career in the late 1980s on the series City Hunter (Nicky Larson home) and Slam Dunk launched a few years later. This manga is dedicated to basketball tells the stories of a high school basketball team from Shohoku. He became one of the world’s most popular manga with over 100 million copies sold since its creation (animated will also created by Toei Animation).
The author is passionate about basketball and sneakerheads are enjoying seeing several mythic models from Jordan and Nike-worn stories. Jordan Brand paid tribute to the character and the manga. Two pairs of sneakers illustrated manga Slam Dunk were invented for the occasion, an Air Jordan 6 accompanied by an Air Jordan Super Fly 3X. The brand plays with time markers, combining old and new silhouettes to represent by printed on each of the uppers, the past and future of the main character, Sakuragi.
